ORT-Russia took an active part in preparation and arranging of the Conference, which become the first All-Russian activity of the FIO after the one-year work of founding the regional centres. Mass-media widely illustrated the opening of the Conference, the reports were shown on the national TV channels.
During the Plenary Meeting the deputy of State Duma of RF Mr. Ryzhkov, the Minister of Education of Russia Mr. Filipov and the vice-speaker of State Duma of RF Mrs. Hakamada made speaches. The head of YUKOS oil company Mr. Hodorkovsky, the members of Board of directions of Federation of Internet Education, the principals of the FIO centres and of the Educational Departments, the representatives of the legislative and executive authority participated in the work of the Conference.
At the plenary Meeting the President of ORT-Russia Mr. Asmolov made a report "Education in Russia in the Time of Communication Technologies: from the Culture of Utility - to the Culture of Dignity"; Mr. Vodopjan (ORT-St.Petersburg) came out with a report "Transpared" School and Internet. Widening of the Educational Field". It should be marked, that the report and the presentation made by ORT-St.Petersburg aroused huge response of the audience and activated many discusions and proposals.
ORT also took part in the work of the Conference's Sections: Vladimir Dribinsky, ORT-St.Petersburg director, as a member of the Organizational Committee, headed the section "Methodical and Substantial Aspects of Internet-Education". On the Plenar Meeting Mr. Dribinsky reported about the results of the work of the Section. The Principal of Moscow ORT Technology School Mr. Leschiner made a report "Subjects-Orientited Store of Educational Recourses, called "Infoteka" - the Joint Project of ORT-St.Petersburg and Open Siciety Institute". Mr. Yakouskin, Deputy Principal of Moscow ORT Technology School, discussed the matters of cooperation and expierence exchanging with the participants of the Conference.
Our relatives with FIO also became a little bit closer. There were meetings with FIO Leadership - Mr. Monakhov, Mr. Musher and Mr. Tarev. FIO representatives emphasized their intention to prepare proposals on collaboration with ORT. Staff members of Krasnoyarsk FIO Resource Centre visited ORT-Ginzburg and had an excursion to ORT Centre and School.
